Interview was done with drummer, Alex.
How did you first picked up drumming?
I’ve wanted to play drums since I was a kid. My dad was a guitar player and had me take guitar lessons when I was like 8. I still had my eyes on drums though. When I started middle school, I chose “band” as an elective and was automatically thrown on drums because I had long hair, ripped jeans, a Nirvana tee and chucks. It worked out perfectly! My pops bought me my first kit as soon as I started high school and I’ve been jammin’ ever since.
What is the best thing you have recieved since playing in the band?
I’d say the best thing is playing shows and touring with bands you like, in cities you love. Nothing like it! What makes it even better is definitely the fans! Playing Warped Tour was also amazing! I’ve wanted to be a part of Warped since I was like 16.
Since you play pop punk music, do you only enjoy listening to pop punk music?
I love pop punk and I enjoyed and still enjoy listening to New Found Glory, Blink 182 and Midtown, just to name a few. Funny thing is, I actually grew up listening and playing in death metal and metal bands. I’m also a huge fan of jazz, funk and blues. Hip hop has always been a part of me as well. Guess you can say I’m pretty well rounded when it comes to music.
Do you have any tattoos? If yes, what and where?
I have a whole bunch! My left arm, right sleeve, left leg, chest and stomach. I’d explain what they all mean but I’d be here forever. I will say this though. All my tattoos are my ideas and have a meaning behind it. I don’t just get pointless tattoos to be cool.
You guys are set to released a new album in october, what can we expect from it?
I feel that most people that have been following the band since day 1 are going to be surprised because our sound now is totally different from our old record. It’s different in a good way. At least we think so. It’s heavier, faster and catchier. Exactly what we wanted. We have a few new tracks up on our Myspace.
Lastly, what special abilities do you wish you had?
I wish I could fly! Easier to travel, never late, no traffic and better site seeing! That would rule!
